Located across from the George Finnie Stadium, the 170,000-square foot Lou Higgins Recreation Center is one of the focal points of University life. The recreation center is huis to the Schoolgebouw of Health, Physical Education and Sport Sciences, numerous Yellow Jacket athletic teams, recreational sports and services, intramural sports and several club sport teams.

If you are looking to improve your physical fitness, stay well and love leisure time, this is the place for you! Other services provided by recreational sports and services include recreational equipment loans, outdoor recreational programming, and non-credit recreational workshops and clinics. Private Training

Recreational Sports and Services, te conjunction with LifeSpan Fitness Group, provides individual training for students, faculty and staff of all skill levels. LifeSpan Fitness Group is a student organization designed to promote healthy and active lifestyles. Private training participants receive a personalized fitness routine and three one-hour individual training sessions vanaf semester. Fitness and Leisure Education Programs

Recreational Sports and Services offers non-credit group fitness and aerobic classes. The classes are designed to help improve and maintain the physical fitness of students, faculty, staff and their spouses. Class schedules are published each semester and are instructed by qualified instructors.


Pilates combines strengthening and toning positions that are held for set amounts of time. It’s a superb workout that involves a lotsbestemming of floor work. Participants should bring a yoga/pilates vloerkleed and wear comfy clothing that permits for ease of movement. The class is designed for beginners to advanced and the instructor does a fabulous job of providing terugkoppeling to improve stance and figure position and optimize class practice.

Water Aerobics

Water aerobics is done ter the pool and no swimming background is needed.
